APS is proud to host the Ashburn Bipolar Support Group. Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, affects millions of Americans. The disorder has a significant impact on those who suffer from the illness. Different from the normal ups and downs that everyone goes through, the symptoms of bipolar disorder are severe, and they often leave individuals reeling, searching for solutions from therapists, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. Support groups provide an opportunity for those with bipolar disorder to learn from others who have walked in their shoes, had similar experiences, felt the same emotions and gone through similar trials.
This support group provides individuals with the opportunity to share and grow from each other in a safe, confidential and welcoming environment. The group meets every Wednesday at 8PM at APS.
