Jamilette (Jamie) Bonilla received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Jamilette started direct 1:1 ABA therapy at Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD). She has worked in various settings such as home services, a clinic, a public school, an ABA private school, and a community-based setting. She has worked with individuals and conducted 1:1 ABA services with clients ranging from 2 years old to 80 years of age. Jamilette completed her master’s in May 2022 and shortly after started working as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school setting for 2 years at Loudoun County Public Schools. She completed her Post Masters certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (2024). She has worked as a Therapeutic Consultant in a nonprofit company. Jamilette has provided Therapeutic Consultation with young adults and older adults in a group home.
She has facilitated social skills groups with both children and adolescents. She has worked with individuals with Downs Syndrome, Anxiety, Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Fragile X, Adjustment disorder with mixed disturbance emotions, Autistic spectrum disorder ASD, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities (IND), Pervasive development disorder, Intermittent explosive disorder, Encephalopathy, and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections (PANDA). She has significant experience in feeding issues, toilet training, and desensitization. She has experience with behavioral issues, including significant problem behaviors, self-injury, aggression, property destruction, visual and motor stereotypes, vocal protest, etc.
She has experience collaborating with families and their children’s schools to support behavioral and skill development across settings. She participates in IEP meetings, IEP review, school observations, and coordination with school districts. She has collaborated with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists. She has extensive experience with augmentative communication devices (ACD) and programming, including TouchChat, ProLoquo, LAMP, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and American Sign Language (ASL). She has also worked extensively with Speech providers to support her clients on PROMPT methodology. Jamilette has experience in conducting training for residential homes and respite facilities.
