Dr. Taleen Avedisian is currently a pre-licensed clinical psychologist who is pursuing her licensure with the state of Virginia. Throughout her training, she has worked with a diverse set of clients experiencing a broad range of diagnoses including anxiety, mood, trauma, and eating disorders, as well as with clients who have experienced significant social and behavioral struggles. Dr. Avedisian also enjoys working with clients across the life span, and she has extensive clinical training and experience with child, adolescent and adult clients. Dr. Avedisian is a trained yoga instructor and also enjoys working with clients through movement and body awareness. Dr. Avedisian adheres to an integrative approach to therapy that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered and mindfulness practices.

Dr. Avedisian earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Her research included understanding the role of epigenetics on intergenerational maltreatment and its impact on child development. During her internship training, she provided lectures on the influence of somatic therapies, yoga therapy, and the varied areas of mindfulness work.

As a clinician, Dr. Avedisian strives to create a safe and therapeutically empathetic space for each of her clients to be heard and understood.  Dr. Avedisian works closely with her clients to develop a mutually agreed upon treatment plan that addresses symptom reduction and serves to empower clients toward improved personal growth and emotional wellbeing.
