Lauren Holmes provides comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and therapeutic treatment for children and adolescents. Her psychoeducational evaluations help identify an individual’s strengths and areas of need to better understand their learning profile and inform appropriate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports. Lauren’s comprehensive psychoeducational testing investigates an individual’s performance across cognitive domains, to include: general ability (IQ), attention, learning and memory, visual-spatial skills and visual-motor organization, language development and auditory processing, executive functioning (e.g., planning and organization, working memory, inhibition), academic skills, and psychological and emotional functioning. Through therapy, Lauren works with families and their children to increase healthy communication, develop coping skills, and build self advocacy. She works with children and adolescents to address a variety of needs related to anxiety, depression, peer and family relationships, autism, attention, and executive functioning.
Lauren earned her specialist degree in School Psychology from George Mason University in 2023 and completed her internship with Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) in 2024. Lauren has experience in a variety of school settings and across different age groups, with her primary work being in the high school setting.
Lauren has worked as a high school School Psychologist in FCPS since 2024. Through her experience working within FCPS, Lauren has developed the skills and expertise to address the complex needs of children and adolescents and understand how these needs impact their functioning at home and school. By integrating treatment modalities, to include cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, Lauren helps individuals to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and identify areas where additional support may be beneficial, cope in times of stress, address interpersonal concerns, and self-advocate.
